Georgia and I woke up at 5:15 this morning. Why couldn’t we sleep? I’m jet-lagged, but time at home would be 2:15, so that doesn’t quite explain it. Maybe we’re excited about camp. We’re leaving shortly, and we’re now all packed and ready to go.
I’m teaching with my good friend Rook and we’ve bitten off a lot, doing a path on which utilizes the iron and pearl pentacle in examining the intersection of the Reclaiming and Feri tradition.
It’s only been one day so far, but it feels like so much more. But in a good way. I like everyone on the team, and the hospitality of the Spiralheart community is really touching. Joe has fed us well, and everyone is being housed comfortably. As usual, being out of the Bay Area makes me realize just how darn traumatized I’ve been by my experience of being the Cassandra of that community. It’s so great to be able to speak freely and openly and to be appreciated for my views! Last night before I went to bed one of the teachers I’d just met said “Oak, you really work well with others.” So nice to hear, especially since I’ve been accused of running with scissors.

As I write this, the house is becoming abuzz and alive. Soon we will be leaving. Being with a bunch of witches is always interesting. Who knows what this week will be like? So far, so good.

Casey will be OK. It's time for him to explore - I think it sounds like a good thing. Oh ... and as for vegetables in W.V. .... well ... you'll see! Have a great week.
I hope you have a great time!
Please pass on my regards to Rook and tell him I still have his coin on my altar and it serves to remind me of his wonderful teaching back in 2004. I have carried the things I learned about working with the Elements and incorporated them into my daily practice.
I had a dream last night about a goddess I had no conscious knowledge of before - Astarte - and if you get the chance in coming days or weeks, I'd appreciate your take on the write-up of the dream which I've posted to my blog today.
Specifically, I'm trying to find out if there has ever been a reference to a 'Mirror of Astarte' or if she is associated with mirrors by any tradition or in any stories.
I do hope you have a wonderful experience at camp; your students will certainly benefit and I hope there are many opportunities for mirth as well as learning and teaching.
I am off to Oakfield Camp here in the UK, Friday through to Monday, which promises to be a place where I will encounter people from many different traditions.
Love and blessings as always, my friend. x
Hope you had a wonderful time at camp! Thought you'd like to know that we make reference to your two camp posts and to your summer solstice post in a post ("Buzz Coils")on our new blog, "Medusa Coils" at http://medusacoils.blogspot.com
Hey! I just got back from SpiralHeart's camp. Wow. I wish I were a bard, I could express adequately my gratitude. I felt at home, in a truly profound manner. We created much healing magic together, there at Claymont. I'm not tired when I think of helping to organize next year's camp -- that's huge.
It was a pleasure to meet you!
love,
Kelpie
